Hoboken Charter School’s 198 students finally went to their own school Wednesday, 13 months after a brutal fire destroyed their building at 713 Washington St.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have them coming back,” Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer told the Daily News. “They are an example of the resiliency of Hoboken.”

The community already cherished the school’s 713 Washington St. building for K-8 but it has become a symbol of Hoboken’s pluck and resilience after a ferocious blaze destroyed it the second day of classes last year.
