Annual Fund 2016 – 2017
The Friends of Hoboken Charter School Annual Fund
Dear Friends and HCS Families:
Congratulations – you have won the lottery! But with the school year well underway, you know that already – and you know how fortunate you are to be sending your child(ren) to the Hoboken Charter School. Whether you are in the first year of lottery “winnings”, the fifth year, the ninth, or beyond, all of our families are benefiting from the same good fortune.
This particular lottery has a financial benefit as you “won” the choice to attend Hoboken Charter School – tuition free and publicly-funded. Additionally, and far more important than the financial component, Hoboken Charter delivers on its mission of “academic rigor and service learning”. HCS provides our children a unique educational environment served by a dedicated administration and teaching staff culminating in a dynamic learning experience for our kids.
Hoboken Charter School exists and thrives because of the determination of its founding pioneers, committed past and present board members, trustees, officers, administrators, and as a result of generous support from committed families and friends like you. It is now the time of year that we ask everyone to consider what they are willing to and can afford to give back.
We are fortunate that many of those in our community able to do so have regularly donated $2,500, $5,000 or more to support The Friends of Hoboken Charter School. There is also a high level of engagement at varied contribution levels (from $10 to $10,000+) as we strive for 100% family participation from ALL of those who value HCS. Please consider the donation at the level appropriate for you as we seek to reach our annual target of $150,000 – $200,000 for overall fundraising.
Visit the Annual Fund Donor Wall here to thank all of our generous supporters.

Please think about what the school means to you – please give what you can this year – please help meet the needs of today and lay the foundation for a stronger tomorrow. As always, whether it is $10,000 or $10, your contribution as a member of the Hoboken Charter School Community is important as we strive for 100% participation.
Please return your donation as soon as possible at school office at 713 Washington. While checks are preferred (avoiding a service fee), contributions are certainly welcomed online at www.hcs-pa.org/donate_now. We am proud to be members of this dedicated Hoboken Charter School community and know our generation will continue to do its part.

Chairperson, Fundraising Committee
P.S. Please feel free to contact me about non-listed sponsorship opportunities, to discuss other ways you can become more involved with fundraising or other aspects of The Friends, or with any questions, comments or ideas.
P.P.S. I also want to take this opportunity, as Chair of the “no longer necessary” 713 Washington St. Refinance Committee, to share that we have successfully secured what should be “permanent” financing in the form of a 25-year term loan. I want to thank the other members of the committee for their work AND BCB (Bayonne Community Bank) for their extraordinary willingness to work with us and provide very positive terms for the loan. BCB has a branch location at the corner of Washington and 4th so please consider stopping by to thank them – and, if interested, to explore the other services the bank has to offer the community. We also express sincere appreciation to New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC) who funded the original 5 year loan that made the purchase of 713 possible – as well as for their incredible support following the fire in 2012.
